Heriz ( Heris ) is a city situated to the north-east of the city Tabriz in East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Heriz carpets are durable and hard-wearing and they can last for generations. Heriz rugs are often woven in geometric, bold patterns with a large medallion dominating the field. Similar rugs from the neighboring towns and villages of the Heriz region are Afshar, Mehraban, Sarab, Bakhshaish, and Gorevan. Rugs from Heriz are generally of a more coarse weave with a knot density usually ranging from 30-100 kpsi.
* The images provided are as accurate as possible. Due to the differences in computer monitors, smartphones, and tablets it is possible the colors of the rug may slightly vary.
